Baselworld 2013: TAG Heuer unveils its new look: new position, new stand, new ambiance
Baselworld 2013: TAG Heuer unveils its new look: new position, new stand, new ambiance
With its new stand, TAG Heuer is doing justice to the new exhibition hall designed by the Herzog and Meuron firm of architects: 18 months of engineering design and architectural work were spent on this project and today we are exhibiting with a new 1863 m2 stand with 40 private meeting areas on 3 levels. Approximately one hundred people worked for 7 weeks to assemble this luxury liner, which was brought from Italy on 50 trucks. During the period of the Fair, it will host over 2,000 events ranging from press presentations to business meetings.
Journalists and retailers, surrounded by approximately 170 staff including 11 hostesses, will discover the 2013 novelties displayed in this luxurious setting and more particularly the « Carrera » range that is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. As a reminder of this jubilee, the interior decor evokes the ‘arty’ scene of the sixties: with a Calder-style mobile here and the Rothko-style brand insignia there, the decorative style is expressed in an ambiance of quiet refinement that combines such aristocratic materials as ebony-stained solid oak and metallic linen with more technical elements such as the stretched fabric of the façade.
Designed by the Italian architect Ottavio Di Blasi - cooperating here with TAG Heuer for the third time - this temple of luxury features a 3-D façade symbolizing the rigorous but cutting-edge posture adopted by the brand. The lounge has a huge central light well and thus provides an ideal position from which to view all three levels of the stand. The creativity of the designers is expressed around the core principles of prestige and performance.
Finally, sitting imposingly on the forecourt, there is a McLaren 12c GT road racer, with its unique offbeat style and special chrome-effect paint, inspired by the bodywork of the F1 cars of the McLaren racing stable. It is a reminder to lovers of fine engineering features and tightly-sculptured chassis that the only difference between a beautifully made chronograph and a racing car is one of scale.
To celebrate the Carrera’s 50th birthday and inaugurate this new stand properly, TAG Heuer is organising 3 evenings during the Fair, on 25th, 27th and 29th April, from 6.30pm to 10.00pm. Guests will have an opportunity to share a glass of champagne whilst they discover the latest version of the brand universe, in other words a Manufacture in perpetual motion.
