Baselworld 2014: Avenue Classic Diamond Drops and Midnight Diamond Drops 39mm

The House of Harry Winston introduces an enchanting new dial design that celebrates the brilliance and sparkle of the world’s finest diamonds. Like a pointillist painter, the gem-setter creates an intricate composition using only brilliant-cut stones, replacing colors with the sparkle of icy white gems.

This enchanting canvas demonstrates the Harry Winston’s expertise in gem-setting and references the signature techniques used in the House’s fine jewelry creations: the near-invisible claw-setting on the chatons ensures that nothing distracts from the beauty of each diamond; diamonds are placed on the dial using a snow-setting, demonstrating the gem-setter’s skill and precision.

Set with 29 brilliant-cut diamonds, the white gold case of the Avenue Classic Diamond Drops creates the ideal frame to showcase the intricate composition of the dial, like a window gazing out towards the sky. The textured base of the dial is shown in sophisticated shades of grays – the smoky hues creating the perfect contrast to showcase the brilliant sparkle of each individual stone. A snow-setting featuring 190 brilliant-cut gems gently cascades down the dial, awakening the composition with a sense of movement and emotion.

Midnight Moon Phase Diamond Drops 39 mm captures the romance and promise of the evening sky through an enchanting dial design, rich in detail. A crescent-shape moon phase display peers beneath the midnight blue sunray dial – the radiance of its lustrous full-moon and glistening stars enhanced by a cascade of snow-set diamonds extending across the dial. Details including a date-display at 6 o’clock, an emerald-cut applique at 12 o’clock over, and a diamond-set bezel and lugs contribute to the overall balance and harmony of the design. Featuring 305 diamonds totaling 1.55 carats, this exquisite model is a true testament to House’s expertise in the art of gem-setting.
