The latest version of the highly-accurate CERTINA DS-2 Chronograph relies on the same Swiss-Made ETA PRECIDRIVE™ quartz movement used in the previous model line. This time, however, the movement is set inside a brushed/polished black PVD-finished stainless-steel case with a sporty synthetic ring in either CERTINA green or red (according to model) around a stainless-steel tachymeter bezel, and a same-coloured “DS”-decorated synthetic element on the crown tip. Blending in perfectly with the case finish, the crown and pushbuttons are also finished with shiny black PVD coating.

Behind the rounded sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both faces, the black dial provides strong contrast, further enhanced by the use of two-tone HM hands and indices treated with Superluminova, for best readability under any lighting condition. For additional clarity, contrasting colours were selected for individual chronograph functions, with green (or red) hands used for 1/100^th-sec., 12-hour and 30-min. while white is used for the 60-sec. hand. The three silver-edged counters are neatly complemented by a black outer rim with contrasting green (or red) scale indications, on which 1/100^ths sec. are displayed in real time during the first minute of timing. A date window is placed at 6 o’clock, inside the small-second counter, for easy viewing.

The new DS2 Chronograph is assembled using CERTINA’s well-known DS Concept, and is water-resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m). As a reminder, the watch case-back is decorated with the CERTINA turtle emblem, historical symbol of water resistance, robustness and long life for the brand. To put the final touch on a gorgeous design, the timepiece is equipped with a very original and sporty black rubber strap with coloured (green or red) stitching.
